Two doctors. One careful approach.
We believe high-quality eye care should never feel rushed. We take the time to listen, so we understand your concerns and can address your vision needs completely. Every patient leaves with clear answers and a plan that fits them.
Dr. Cynthia Phelps, OD
Dr. Cynthia Phelps earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1991 and has been caring for San Antonio patients ever since. She chose optometry for the immediate reward of helping someone see clearly, and more than three decades later, that moment still drives her work. Her clinical focus includes contact lenses, glaucoma management, and integrative health and clinical nutrition.
Patients say what they value most is that Dr. Phelps truly listens and never rushes an exam; she takes the time a thorough eye exam deserves. Her interest in integrative health keeps her following the latest research on nutrition and lifestyle approaches that support healthy eyes, so she can share practical, up-to-date guidance with her patients.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Dr. Phelps descends from the Canary Islander families who were among the city's original settlers, and she is an active member of the Canary Islands Descendants Association. Outside the office, you'll find her traveling, keeping up with fashion, or at the gym, where she's a devoted fan of BodyPump, weightlifting and aerobic exercise.

Dr. Mead is committed to lifelong learning and regularly attends continuing education seminars and advanced training courses, so his patients benefit from current, evidence-based eye care.
